Just a few words about me. I am a practicing RN in New Jersey. Pediatrics is my current specialty area. One of my passions over the years has been backpacking and my goal is to hike the Appalachian Trail nonstop. I backpack with my current companion, Betsy, a pound pooch, and grandchildren.  My eyes have been a problem of late, so I ask your patience as I rely on my granddaughter to actually type in the information. Scope of this site:

My goal is to cover the eastern seaboard as well as any and all states which have an Appalachian Trail presence.  Example: Pennsylvania is not a coastal state but has the Appalachian Trail running through it; Rhode Island is coastal, but no Appalachian Trail.
